Root words, Affix, Prefix and Suffix

In this topic, I've learned that a Root word is the base of the word. An Affix is a letter, sound or a word added to the root word on the beginning or at the end. A Prefix is a letter, sound or word that are added to the root word on the beginning while a Suffix is a letter, sound or a word added to the root word at the end. Some of the commonly used Prefixes and Suffixes are as follows:
 Prefixes:
-ab (away from) absent
-ante (before) antecedent
-circum (around) circumference
-dis (not) disagree
-ex (out) expel
-inter (between) international
-multi (many) multimillionaire
-re (repeat) reply

Suffixes:
-sion ( act of) Education, precision
-ry, ty ,rty (condition of) scenery, safety, sanity
-ic (pertain) Fantastic
-y, ly (in the capacity of) surely, windy
- ous, ions, eous (like, full) dangerous
-ble, able, ible (capacity of being) capable, forcible
-ance, ence (state of) repentance, persistence
-al (pertaining to) sexual, theatrical

We can use Prefixes and Suffixes to easily identify the root word and what particular prefix or suffix are used in a word.
